Following advice from UK Government & guidance from the LTA we are now able to open the club on a restricted basis. Please read the LTA Guidance For Tennis Players & our revised Club procedures. See below.
There will be no social tennis for the foreseeable future.
Spectating will be discouraged, parents are must restrict themselves to one per child and leave there children with us where possible.
Please be aware the club has strict 2 metre social distancing measures in order to ensure the safety of staff & members alike. If you have your own hand sanitiser please bring this with you, however we do have sanitiser stations around the club for additional protection. Please ensure all members and visitors adhere to this.
Clubhouse is open with distancing measures in place. We actively encourage you to remain outside where possible, follow the one way system and the measures in place. The Toilets and Handwashing facilities in the Changing rooms can be accessed via the rear of the building. Refreshments will be served from the Bar. There are no kitchen facilities open.
Further to the updated Government COVID-19 guidance issued on 15th October members need to be aware of the key changes which take effect from Saturday 17th October.
For outdoor play organised by members playing singles or doubles, this will have no effect. However for groups of 8, this will mean making 2 court bookings in 2 names. The 4 players on each court cannot swap between courts, they can however swap around within their 4.
Indoor play for ADULTS is not permitted. Apart from 1-1 coaching and those from the same household . All block bookings are suspended from 17th October until Chesterfield moves back to Tier 1.
Under this new legislation, the Government has defined racket sports (including tennis) as being activity that involves mixing because they require at least two people for it to happen, despite them being on opposite sides of a net. This means that in Tier 2 and Tier 3 areas tennis for adults indoors is limited to play between people in the same household/bubble or one to one coaching (with an exemption for tennis activity for disabled people, and for under 18s).
The Junior and disability Coaching Programme continue indoors and adult groups continue outdoors only.
Follow the link below to see the restrictions.
Please be patient with our staff they will be working within guidelines and doing extra cleaning tasks to ensure your safety, this may mean things take a little longer.
In 2005 the Club underwent a major redevelopment with the building of the indoor hall with 3 courts and creating 3 artificial grass and 4 tarmac courts outdoors. There are 5 floodlit outdoor courts.
These new facilities have made the Club one of the best venues in Derbyshire, providing a Coaching Programme for both junior and adults , courts for members, non-members and schools.
The Club hosts numerous tennis tournaments, bringing players from all over the country.
In 2012 the interior
of the Clubhouse was upgraded and a new bar, office and meeting room added.
